Who qualifies for the K50?
Each K50 Applicant must meet the following criteria:
Co-Founder Status: the applicant/nominee must be a co-founder of the company.
Age Eligibility: he or she must have been under the age of 26 at the time the company was founded.
Working Product/Prototype: each company must have a product or prototype that can be demoed at the time of submission.
Business Model: must clearly fit one of the following two categories:
Cutting-edge Technologies Entering Massive, Outdated Industries (such as transportation, logistics, healthcare)
New Products & Services Addressing Fundamental Human Needs
Kairos Global Summit Attendance: he or she must be able to attend and showcase the product or prototype at the Kairos Global Summit, which takes place in New York, NY from April 21-22. They may bring other co-founders or team members.
Fundraising: companies should be pre Series A at the time of application.
Timing and Process
We will be processing nominations on a rolling basis, and we encourage each candidate to fill out an application as soon as possible so that we can get to know the founders before the Summit.
All applications and phone screens must be processed before February 3rd, 2017. The final selections will be made no later than February 17th, in order to ensure the K50 can make the necessary travel arrangements for the Kairos Global Summit.
Selection Process and Timeline: December 7th - February 3rd, 2017
Application (open until Feb 3rd) - an application must be filled out by all applicants which will be screened
K100 Selection (Feb. 3rd) - 100 applicants will be chosen on a rolling basis up until February 3, 2017
Phone Screen (on a rolling basis through February 17th) - selected applicants will be given a 15 minute phone screen to share more about the team, product, customer, and traction.
Final Review and Selection (Feb. 17th) - each K100 will be reviewed by the Kairos Selection Committee made up of the Kairos Fund managing partners, former K50 founders, venture capitalists, and angel investors
